We had the opportunity to attend the CADEAU (pronounced Ka-doo) store opening in Nashville,TN on September 26th. If you haven’t been to the 12 South area lately, you certainly need to plan a visit. The area has really grown in the last two years with the addition of new restaurants and stores. The area itself is pedestrian friendly and has experienced an increase in traffic. The free parking on the street is accessible and some of the newer businesses have parking behind or near their buildings. Be careful parking on the roads that intersect 12th South, however. The locals don’t enjoy losing their parking spots.
Cadeau is the brainchild partnership of Frannie Preston Daughrity and Catherine Rector. It is a neat little store filled with surprises. The concept is gifts and home furnishings with a natural esthetic. The store itself is small but laid out very well. The inventory is heavily influenced by nature. We have always had the intent of featuring science based home goods on our website. The wall decor includes animal skulls, moss, and entomology boxes from Christopher Marley’s line Pheromone. You can also find candles, terrariums, linens, books, antlers, and lighting.
