A Musculoskeletal System is an organ system that gives an animal or human the ability to move. The system encompasses your muscles, tendons, bones, joints, and cartilage. Without it, your tissues and organs would not connect together.
We at DNA Stylix have decoded the trend of incorporating the musculoskeletal system in designs.
For example, Marchesa‘s Fall 2012 RTW.
Another designer embracing the musculoskeleton is
Furne One of Amato Couture.
This Dubai based designer originally from the Philippines just recently celebrated the launch of his trio of perfumes on November 9th. He is one of many designers partnering with Bench.
Furne is still somewhat of a hidden gem in the fashion industry (the NYC industry mostly. He still has not shown his collection for MBFW.) However, he just recently launched a store in Los Angeles (which he informs us will be relocating). His eccentric and artistic designs and accessories may not be the first choice for every day wear, but they make for beautiful editorials, Gala, and award show selections. Furne has a growing celebrity following – Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Shakira, Kerli, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks etc.
Tyra Banks and the ANTM (America) finalists just wore his work on the finale show (November 16th) fueling his following of fans & clients.
We predict this gem will be not be hidden for much longer.
Q&A With Furne One of Amato Couture
Tell us a little about yourself.
“I GREW UP IN THE PHILIPPINES. STARTED DESIGNING SINCE I WAS IN MY COLLEGE YEARS. I FINISHED A DEGREE IN FINE ARTS. “
Where do you normally get the inspirations for your collections?
“I DRAW INSPIRATIONS FROM A VARIETY OF UNLIKELY SOURCES RANGING FROM MUSIC, CINEMA, GOTHIC ART, VINTAGE PIECES, AND COSMIC MYSTICISM. INTELLIGENT CONVERSATION WITH INTERESTING PEOPLE ALSO FIRES UP MY IMAGINATION.”
LA Fashion week seems to be a wonderful launch pad to build your fan base here in the US, do you have plans to show your collection again in LA in 2013?
You have a wonderful array of celebrities already wearing your designs, who would you like to see wear your work that hasn’t yet?
“I WOULD LOVE TO SEE ANGELINA JOLIE AND KATE BLANCHET IN ONE OF MY CREATIONS.”
In regards to the more elaborate designs (the ‘armor”, shoulder pieces, etc.) that you create; what materials do you usually use to make those?
“ACCESSORIES DEPENDS ON THE THEME OF THE COLLECTION. AS FOR THE MATA HARI COLLECTION WE USED MORE OF THE METAL SPIKES, FRENCH LACE, FRENCH TULLE , PEARLS AND SWAROVSKI FANCY CRYSTALS”
Your designs are very detailed in nature. Can you tell us more about your design team?
“WELL, WE HAVE DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS WHO WORK ON THEM. WE START WITH THE MASTER CUTTER, THEN PASS ON TO THE TAILOR, THEN TO THE HAND EMBROIDERS, THEN TO THE FINISHERS.”
You recently launched a store in the US, could you tell us where it is located?
“RIGHT NOW CAN’T SAY BECAUSE WE’RE TRYING TO RELOCATE. WILL UPDATE DETAILS ONCE EVERYTHING IS SORTED OUT.”
For our US fans, how do we purchase your designs if we cannot get to your boutique?
WE TAKE (custom) ORDERS. THEY CAN DIRECTLY EMAIL US. OUR OFFICIAL EMAIL ADDRESS IS INFO@AMATOHAUTECOUTURE.COM AND GIVE US THE KIND OF DRESS THEY DESIRE, THEN WE MAKE THEM ACCORDING TO THEIR SIZE.
Furne’s designs are heavily weighted in similarity to Alexander McQueen. And if you have read some of our previous posts, you know how we love McQueen for the line’s ability to constantly pull inspiration from science. We will no doubt focus on Amato Couture collections in the future.
